Skipper Shiv Sundar Das slammed 73 to steer Orissa to a seven-wicket win over Tripura in a league match of the East Zone Vijay Hazare Trophy limited-overs cricket tournament at Jadavpur University ground in Kolkata today.
Test discard Das hit eight boundaries and a six in his 83-ball knock. Chasing a competitive target of 180, Orissa rode on a 72-run opening wicket stand between Das and Natraj Behera to romp home in 33.5 overs.
Behera proved to be a good all-rounder, scoring a breezy 44 with the help of nine fours and scalping two wickets for 12 runs. Earlier put into bat, Tripura were bowled out for 179.
